Agoda has announced a partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance, and Krungthai Bank PCL to support the ‘Rao Tiew Duay Gan’, or TTogether stimulus project to boost domestic travel.

Agoda’s Bangkok based technology team has developed tech and marketing solutions to simplify the search, booking, and payment processes for eligible Thai travelers joining the government’s subsidy program, and booking participating hotels via Agoda’s dedicated platform www.agoda.com/ttogether.

The TTogether tourism stimulus encourages Thai travelers to plan inter-provincial trips to book and stay between 18 July and 31 October 2020, to help revive domestic tourism and support hoteliers and the tourism industry in the 76 provinces across the country. The government will subsidize 40% of room night rates, up to 3,000 THB per night, for up to five nights per person. Over 5 million room nights are offered as part of this Thai government initiative.

From 15 July 2020, travelers can register to participate in the TTogether program on the program’s website, and once registered can book via Agoda mobile application. From 6 am, 18 July 2020, travelers can quickly and easily see the great deals from participating hotels on Agoda’s dedicated platform, which will highlight destinations across the country to encourage Thai travelers to visit more of Thailand, beyond traditionally popular destinations. Agoda’s platform can help distribute tourism spend to benefit the wider Thai tourism economy.

For hoteliers, Agoda’s automation of processes will provide advantages, particularly to independent hotels throughout Thailand, to allow them to manage these bookings more efficiently. Agoda’s technology simplifies participation in this initiative by making it easier to receive payment quickly for the room, and reducing manual steps in the eligibility verification process.

John Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Agoda, said: “As one of the biggest digital accommodations platforms in Thailand, we are delighted to partner with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance, and Krungthai Bank PCL to use our technology to help enhance the customer experience when booking one of these fabulous value deals offered by the ‘Rao Tiew Duay Gan’ campaign. Thailand is one of our most exciting markets, as well as being home to our major operations center, so we are proud to be able to help Thai travelers to explore and experience all the beauty and diversity Thailand has to offer.

There will be thousands of hotels to choose from all across 76 provinces in Thailand on the Agoda platform, which means we will also be supporting safe and sustainable travel, and sharing the tourism benefits across the country.”
