Thai Garden Resort Pattaya retains its coveted four-star award

To locals who have had experience of this almost iconic place, the announcement that the Department of Tourism had once again awarded the Thai Garden Resort in Pattaya a four-star certificate would come as no surprise.

The announcement, when it was made, meant the Thai Garden Resort (situated on North Pattaya Road, not far from the Dolphin roundabout) had been assessed and found to conform with all requirements to earn this four star standard. The long-running establishment had first picked up this prestigious rating in 2010, following a series of quite extensive renovations.

The Tourism authorities make a round of inspections every four years to be sure standards haven’t regressed, and not surprisingly, Thai Garden Resort passed this inspection with flying colours.

Rene Pisters, the General Manager of the Thai Garden Resort expressed his sincere thanks towards the Ministry of Tourism for providing the award, acknowledging the success of the resort had been made possible due to the great support of the Board of Directors and the many dedicated and committed employees who toil at the Resort and help keep services for all guest and patrons of the hotel at a high level.

Apart from the quality of the hotel facilities, the nightly dinner buffet, which takes place at the Lagoon Poolside, is recognised as one of the best in Pattaya, both for the quality and variety of food served and the great value price.

The Thai Garden Resort occupies a good location making it close to most things Pattaya has to offer, yet it is an oasis of peace and tranquillity.

The spacious, open-air lobby is the perfect traditional Thai welcome for guests, with beautiful orchid arrangements and original applique murals created by artisans from Chiang Mai. The immediate impact is of Thailand ‘as it used to be’ for those lucky enough to recall a time like that. Considering the Thai Garden Resort opened back in 1988, when Pattaya was still very much in its growing phase, it’s perhaps no surprise it has retained that sense of time past. The service is friendly and gracious, a great start to your vacation.

The hotel is a spacious 25,000 square metres, with manicured tropical gardens. Classical Thai statues are tastefully displayed throughout the entire resort. The hotel has 228 rooms, with no buildings higher than two storeys. Rooms are 35 square metres, with a flat screen TV with 60 channels. The in-room safe is spacious, enough for a laptop. The bathrooms have a rain and a hand held shower and consumables such as a toothbrush, shampoo, and hair dryer. There are also apartments at 49 square metres, with a living room area and extras such as a DVD player. The hotel also provides free hi-speed wi-fi Internet.

During the renovations management made a long-term investment in solar panels which provides the hot water to the rooms.

Without doubt, the social heart of the resort is the beautiful pool area. The pool is 63 metres long and encompasses jacuzzi areas, foot massage, various other stimulating water features and a separate children’s pool. The pools use a salt water chlorination system. There are ample sunbeds, each with a service button connected to the poolside bar.

The Thai Garden has an exceptionally high level of customer satisfaction on websites such as Trip Advisor, Holiday Check and Zoover. Many of the 160 staff have been with the hotel for a long time, even some from the opening 25 years ago.
