Habitus project moving apace
Habitus is the new exciting boutique style resort project from Powerhouse Developments Co. Ltd in Jomtien. Spread over two rai 319 tw, or 4476 sqm, the development is located in Soi 17 Thepprasit Road, making it nearby to the local market, bars and restaurants and within 800 metres of the beach. It also allows easy accessibility to Pattaya, supermarkets and the main Sukhumvit Road.
The project consists of three buildings, with 228 units on site. Each building will have its own underground car parking. With 30 spaces available in building A, 20 in building B, and 25 in building C. That gives a total of 75 in all, a ratio of almost one space for every three units. This is one of the highest in Pattaya. Each car park will have its own lobby area with an elevator as well as post boxes for each unit. There are also three stairwells in each building. There will be a drop off and turning area at the end of building C.
The people behind Powerhouse Developments Co. Ltd, the company building Habitus, have a track record of building projects in countries as diverse as Canada, Malaysia, Mexico and Singapore, as well as Thailand. Between them they have over 60 years worth of experience in architecture, design, and construction. It is this combined expertise which is producing the Skylight and Waters Edge concepts and now Habitus. Water’s Edge, in Na Jomtien, is set to be completed by the middle of this year, and will contain just 37 units, a mere six metres from the sea.
Skylight, close by the Hanuman statue, will be 56 units set in a seven-storey atrium with a functional skylight, the first of its kind in Pattaya. Construction for this is expected to begin in the middle of this year.
Habitus will have at least 30% green area, with three large swimming pools on site. These will be complemented by attractive sun terrace areas, relaxation gardens, a hydrotherapy pool, and reflection pools, all beautifully landscaped.
There will be walkways throughout the grounds some of which will be sloped, thereby making the project wheelchair friendly, as well as assisting those with young families. A gymnasium will be set up in building C.
The three buildings vary in size. Building A will house 85 units; building B, 62, and building C, 81 units. There are six types of unit configuration within this project. Habitus will have 83, 32sqm studios, designed as modular units so they can be easily combined. They also have 75 one-bedroom units of 48sqm, and 18 two-bedroom units of 64sqm.
Additionally, there are three special configurations. The first of these are 29 ground floor loft units. These are two-storey units of 56 sqm and will have a six-metre high glass frontage, giving great views over the elevated swimming pools or the landscaped areas. Further to this are 21 duplex units which are on the top two floors; here you not only get one balcony but the upper floor balcony will have its own private plunge pool, measuring 1 x 2.5m. Also, the two penthouses will have their own pools, measuring 3.1 x 1.5m. The penthouses are three-bedroom duplex units of 122 sqm.
All units will come complete with air con, fitted bathrooms and kitchens. These kitchens are to be produced by the Bangkok-based firm RCD, one of the leaders in the capital in kitchen design. The kitchen tiles, as one example, are of such high quality they’re one-centimetre thick.
Also included is a floating breakfast bar with glass support. All the fitted furniture will be done in white oak.
