Retox Baht Buster Breakfast just the start of a great menu
The Retox Bar, Hotel and Restaurant, which opened on Soi Lengkee almost a year ago, has become well-known across much of the expat community and the regular visitor brigade as one of the best places to eat in the area, both in terms of the quality and quantity of its dishes, and its value-for-money pricing structure. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just a quick snack, Retox is the kind of place designed to attract all tastes.
A quick look online shows that Retox has already attracted a number of reviews in the Google community and averages a healthy four out of a possible five stars. So, they’re clearly doing something right by the general public.
When it first opened, the Retox kitchen operated long hours, but in November last year the management decided there was sufficient call to turn the dining into a 24-hour operation.
A very popular promotion is the 99 Baht Buster Breakfast. Available all day, and all night if that’s what you want, this is often considered arguably the best breakfast in the city for the money. Two eggs, two English sausages, two slices of bacon, fried potatoes, a fried tomato, beans, mushrooms, black pudding, fried bread, toast, tea or coffee, and orange juice for just 99 baht.
If that’s just too much to consume in one go, Retox does have a smaller version breakfast, for just 75 baht.
There is also the amazing Retox Breakfast Challenge, which could not only fill a customer up, but earn him, or her, 5,000 baht in cash. If you can consume 12 sausages, 12 slices of bacon, 12 eggs, six black puddings, five slices of toast, five slices of fried bread, four whole tomatoes, a tin of beans and a lot of fried potatoes in under one hour, then management will give you 5,000 baht, and the food for free. Fail, and all it will cost you is 1,500 baht.
Other items which have already garnered a following among the growing group of regular diners are the Retox Eggs Benedict, Cottage Pie, Chicken Curry, Jack Daniels BBQ pork ribs, Lamb Burger and the Retox Burger.
For those who may be watching their weight, or are simply concerned about the food they consume, Retox has the Bankbuster, made with 100 percent natural and organic ingredients. There is also the even healthier (if that’s possible) Detox menu, which consists of grilled health foods, protein shakes and fresh fruit smoothies.
The Retox Bar is also establishing its niche in the sporting venue stakes, having 30 TV screens set up around the premises and showing all the sporting fixtures almost anyone could ever want to see.
Naturally, all the popular and favourite beers, wines and spirits are available from Retox’s well-stocked bar, including draft Guinness at a knockdown price.
