Bangkok–28 May–Centara Grand at CentralWorld

Shark sculptures, paintings and photographs along with works on other marine life are on display at Centara Grand at CentralWorld from 5 June to 15 July to help raise awareness of the need to conserve ocean life.

The artworks, contributed by artists, ambassadors, celebrities, media people and young artists have been gathered as part of the activities surrounding World Oceans Day, which is observed every year on 8 June.

“Sharks are beautiful and represent the survival of the marine world,” says Thirach Rungruangknokkul, director and founder of Art 4 Ocean, which is arranging the exhibition.

“Not everyone can dive and appreciate the underwater experience first-hand, so we are bringing sharks and other marine life to Thai people and international visitors.”

“We hope this will encourage people to become involved with ocean conservation.”

Thirach is a conservationist and underwater photographer, as well as being an artist for global brand high-end jewellery. He and his invited artists will exhibit at Sky Lobby on 23rd floor of Centara Grand at CentralWorld from June 5 – July 15. The artwork is for sale and the funds raised will be forwarded to Project Seahorse – Advancing Marine Conservation.
