Bangkok–22 May–Mitsubishi Motors
Mr. Nobuyuki Murahashi, President of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Company Limited (MMTh) recently revealed the official name of Mitsubishi’s new generation global compact car under Global Small Project or Eco Car Sedan for the Thai market as Mitsubishi “ATTRAGE”. The car will be made at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand third factory located in LaemChabang Industrial Estate, Chonburi, following the government’s green light on the Eco Car Sedan project.
The name “ATTRAGE” originated from the word “attractive”, conveying the message that “ATTRAGE” is a decent sedan that is going to attract various target groups with its main product features that can be classified in the following 3 categories – top fuel consumption, good maneuverability and spacious cabin.
“Among the class-leading features include the excellent aerodynamic, optimization of the body structure and further adaptation of high-tensile steels resulting in one of the lightest weights among its class; “ATTRAGE” achieves top fuel consumption in its class at 22 km/liter and provides superb maneuverability with a class-leading minimum turning radius of 4.8 meter.”ATTRAGE” is also designed to provide a spacious cabin from its top class interior length compared to other sub-compact cars in the market together with value-added equipment. After the success of the Mirage introduction last year, the “ATTRAGE” will be another high-quality strengthening Mitsubishi’s line-up in Thailand. We believe it will satisfy all types of customers’ needs” said Mr. Murahashi.
According to MMTh’s plan, Mitsubishi “ATTRAGE” will be introduced as a world premier in Thailand this July 2013 and it will be exported later on to worldwide markets as a global strategic vehicle.
