The Comedy Pub is Serious About its Cuisine

The Comedy Pub may well be one of the newer upscale multi-functional food, drink and entertainment places in Pattaya, but management recognize they need to promote their existence to the wider community, and for this month they are offering a very enticing deal to bring new faces through their impressive doors.

The Comedy Pub believes it has one of the best buffet deals in town, and for July it is offering readers of the Business Supplement the chance to try the buffet at no cost. All you need to do is bring a copy of the Supplement with the Comedy Pub advert on any Wednesday in July, present the advert and dine for free. Naturally, there is a limit of one per customer, and you can only try the buffet on a gratis basis once during the promotional offer period.

The buffet is normally very reasonably priced at just 300 baht, and includes one drink. It really is what is termed in the industry as a ‘loss leader’, but the whole point of having these kinds of promotions is to get new faces coming through the door, and, if they like what they see, then the chances are they will return, and maybe turn into long-term regulars.

Located in what is colloquially known as Soi Batman, but is officially Sukhumvit Soi 46/3 in south Pattaya, one of the Comedy Pub’s draws is offering what might well be the cheapest Guinness in Pattaya with a 50 cl. glass of draught Guinness for just 195 baht. There is also a daily happy hour between 6:00 and 7:00pm with a buy one get one free deal.

Given that the owner is from France, the food menu has been carefully assembled to ensure quality and style are in equal abundance. Naturally, it covers the usual range of international-style dishes you would expect, from a choice of English, American, German and Thai breakfasts, all with unlimited refills of coffee, tea or orange juice, to classy salads and soups and a solid main-course menu.

Among the specialties are English-style fish and chips, Lamb shanks and pasta and spaghetti dishes. Perhaps the standouts are the Hungarian Ghoulash or a special ghoulash which is created using Guinness as the base.

The weekly Wednesday buffet encompasses examples of all these international styles in an effort to give customers a better idea of the quality and variety of the cuisine available in more substantial portions throughout the rest of the week.

As with most venues of this type, all major sporting events are broadcast live on their big-screen TVs and there is also live music every Friday and Saturday night.
