The exhibition will be shown at the Bangkok Convention Center, 5th floor, Central Plaza Ladprao, Bangkok, from 1 December 2014 to 1 February 2015. In addition, the children will experience the heritage and touchable Thai satellite in the space in a whole loop. In December, for the first in Southeast Asia, Thaicom hopes that this world class “NASA – A HUMAN ADVENTURE” will inspire and open up the vision in science and space for the Thai kids.”
NASA – A HUMAN ADVENTURE is an amazing exhibition that allows visitors to experience the history of space exploration, an undertaking that requires a tremendous amount of work and research. It is produced by John Nurminen Events in cooperation with NASA, the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, and the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. About 350 space exploration-related objects are featured in the exhibition, many of which were used in real space operations and will be exhibited in Bangkok for the public to see up close.
Prepare to be thrilled by the inventions and technology used by the experts; admire the hard work and devotion of those who made the dream of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely back to Earth become a reality; see the control panel of the Space Shuttle Atlantis; find out what it feels like to be a pilot on board a spacecraft and experience multiple G Forces; learn how astronauts have their meals; see the evolution of astronaut space suits over the decades and take pictures in space suits with your family.
NASA: A HUMAN ADVENTURE is divided into four zones:
1. Space technology – space rockets, space suits, satellites, space car, space robots, space food, space bathroom, space communication devices, space shuttles and operating engines, space electronic devices, space stations and ground stations.
Visitors can explore all NASA’s manned space craft starting from Mercury and Gemini to Apollo and the Space Shuttle. In addition to the US innovations, the Russian space technology is also on display: the replicas of Sputnik satellite and lunar survey rover Lunokhod. Additional highlights of the objects on display include a replica of Neil Armstrong’s space suit; two Titan 1 rocket engines, a scale model of the most powerful rocket ever successfully flown, Saturn V; Apollo Lunar Module cockpit and ascent engine; and a Apollo Command Module replica with a real simulator/trainer interior and a replica of the Command Module’s main hatch.
2. Rides – visitors can enjoy the space experience from these rides:
1. G Force Simulator – Experience a force of up to 1G and imagine the forces that astronauts routinely experienced during a Space Shuttle launch and landing on its return to Earth.
2. The Globe – a circular screen that allows 360-degree views. It contains information about the Sun and planets in the solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, plus the dwarf planet Pluto. The information display is interactive – similar to a gaming experience.
3. Photo Activity Club – Visitors are allowed to take pictures in space suits while they’re experiencing weightlessness in space.
3. Souvenirs – Bring home space souvenirs including a flight jacket, rocket models, and space key chains, pens and patches just like those worn by the operators of the launch control panels on display in the exhibition.
4. Space Café – visitors will feel like they are walking in space while getting their fill of special space cuisine.
Space technology will be introduced into seven different zones:
-Zone 1 – Gantry, the entrance to NASA’s mighty Saturn V moon rocket.
-Zone 2 – Dreamers, focuses on the story of men who dreamed of space exploration and astronomy. They devoted their lives to making that dream become a reality. Men finally beat gravity and invented a vehicle that took off into space and landed on the Moon.
-Zone 3 – Go Fever. Science and technology are always associated within the same social context and history. Two space giants, the United States and Soviet Union competed with each other to show off their progress in the field.
-Zone 4 – Pioneers. Discover the space pioneers who invented Saturn V, the most powerful rocket ever successfully used and the only one that has travelled to the Moon.
-Zone 5 – Endurance. Learn about the endurance of the astronauts in space: how they live their lives on a daily basis, what they wear, what they eat, and much more.
-Zone 6 – Innovation. See space innovations and exploration projects and the space innovations used in normal life.
-Zone 7 – Thai Innovation. Space innovations and other advanced technology devices invented by Thai scientific organisations, including Thaicom and Geo-Informatics and the Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA).
