Shenanigans serves up a special set
Shenanigans is one of the best-known and one of the more longer-established ‘pubs’ in the Pattaya-Jomtien area. It’s location in Jomtien, inside the Jomtien Condotel complex and just 200 metres up from the Dongtan police box, is ideal in terms of position and definitely a plus in terms of parking availability, which, given the amount of traffic these days, can be a major factor when people are planning a night out.
Shenanigans will be celebrating nine years of operation in the same location this year and it has gathered a solid local following in that time.
The restaurant-cum bar-cum sports venue has a daily special, all at competitive prices. Monday is for the Mexican food lover, with Tacos the special of the day at just 159 baht per person. Tuesday is for the paleo-caveman: BBQ Ribs for 259 baht per person. Wednesday it is Burger and Beer as the enticement, for only 249 baht per person. Thursday is an old standby and favourite of almost everyone: Fish and Chips, at only 199 baht per diner. Friday the special offer is Soup and Steak, at 295 baht while Saturday is Beef Stew for 220 baht per person. As with many other places around town, Sunday is reserved as the traditional Carvery day and at 395 baht for all you can eat it’s worth arriving with an empty stomach looking to take advantage of some great grub.
Every Monday evening from 8:00pm until about 10:00pm there is a Pub Quiz, which has proven to be one of the most popular in Pattaya. Teams of up to six players compete across a series of rounds for great prizes. All are welcome to come and give it a try.
The pub has a range of draught beers covering all the usual suspects as well as Guinness, Magners and other specialty drinks.
Another big drawcard for Shenanigans is that they show all major sports on 14 large TVs dotted around the venue, and it includes showing live horse racing from both the United Kingdom and Australia. Basically, if it’s being televised, then Shenanigans will have it live, and you can sit back in air-conditioned comfort and watch it all unfold.
For those who want to catch up on all the news that is news, there is a wide selection of the printed editions of each day’s international newspapers.
Shenanigans is open from 11:00am every day until 11:30pm, although when there is a major sporting event taking place they will often stay open longer, especially if there are plenty of customers in at the time.
As the management like to say, ‘When it comes to sport, comfort, and value for your money, there’s only one place to go!!’
