Easy Taxi, which has attracted more than 500,000 downloads, has been established as the number one taxi booking app in Thailand.
The app, the world’s leading taxi booking app, has completed one year of operations in Thailand and is now planning to launch in all major Thai cities.
“The Easy Taxi app allows people to travel better and work smarter. Even in our short pre-launch phase, we have built a loyal customer base and received positive feedback, as Bangkok users come to realize the speed and convenience of booking a taxi through a mobile phone app. Registered taxi drivers are also working more efficiently, as the app directs them only to nearby passengers and helps to pinpoint their pick-up locations using GPS,” said Felipe Kasinsky, CEO Easy Taxi Thailand.
Overs 8,000 taxi drivers are now registered with Easy Taxi and one of the company’s key aims is to add benefits to the taxi community.
“We have a schedule of development and support for the Thai taxi community and our target is to transform it into a vibrant community that results in happy, satisfied customers,” added Kasinsky.
The app has already been downloaded more than 500,000 times in Thailand and the company expects the figure to increase significantly.
“The huge number of downloads show that there is enormous interest in the service that we are offering and the need for a better way to book and select a taxi. We fully expect to reach our target of one million downloads very soon,” he said.
The app allows passenger to book taxis through their smart phones, increasing the efficiency and speed of booking taxis in Thailand. Users will automatically receive the name, photo and car registration number of the driver upon booking, as well as the approximate time that it will take for the taxi to reach the passenger.
Easy Taxi has a proven track record for reliable services provided to customers and increased business for taxi drivers. Customer safety is a top priority, and ensures stringent vetting of registered drivers. The entrance into Thailand is Easy Taxi’s 3rd in the region, following successful launches in South Korea, Malaysia and Philippines, with plans for more soon. Easy Taxi is currently available in 9 countries in Asia including South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India and Pakistan.
Passengers download the Easy Taxi global app, available for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry devices, confirm their pickup point and request a cab with the press of a button. In seconds they will receive confirmation of the name, photo and car model/plate of their pre-screened taxi driver, and will be able to follow the vehicle’s location in real-time. Options like in-app payment, corporate accounts, favourite addresses, selection of service features, special discounts, passenger-driver messaging and ride history are available according to location. Furthermore, a new generation of the application will be released soon with substantial improvements in feature set, address recognition and usability.
The award-winning app has been rolled out in over 30 countries worldwide and the entrance into the Thailand market is reflective of the booming smartphone penetration of the world’s 20th most populous country.
