The Dubliner, leading the Gaelic league in Bangkok
Located in the heart of the Sukhumvit expat and tourist nightlife area on Soi 33/1, and only a minute’s walk from the BTS station at Phrom Phong, The Dubliner has been serving up more than just a touch of the Blarney since it started in May 2000, albeit in another location.
Yes, it’s a fully-fledged Irish pub and restaurant, but its huge advantage is that it is run by people who can produce birth certificates showing they are citizens of the Emerald Isle.
The Dubliner only moved premises in November 2012, but it quickly found that many of its old regulars followed them down, and, of course, there was an entirely fresh clientele who discovered the charms of the pub.
The move gave the owners the opportunity to recast The Dubliner into what they are calling ‘the next generation of Irish pub.’
Everything was taken into consideration, from the menu to the overall ambience and they believe they’ve taken ‘the genuine Irish pub into the 21st century.’
With regular live music, an international menu devised by renowned chefs and full coverage of major sporting events the pub caters to everyone.
Hotel
The Dubliner classifies itself, quite rightly, as a boutique hotel. They have 15 deluxe rooms and three family suites, all accessed by private elevator.
The deluxe rooms are generously appointed with king size beds, mini bar, microwave, spacious rain showers and an in-room safe. The modern travelers tech needs are also catered for with multi channel cable, and high-speed wireless internet.
The suites are the same as the deluxe rooms, but the TVs are larger and the total area is bigger, making them suitable for small families.
Sport
Sport is a big part of any Irish pub and The Dubliner management take it seriously. From Rugby Union and League, English Premier League, athletics, boxing and F1 to any other major sporting event, the chances are The Dubliner will be showing it. Parties
No matter what type of event you have in mind, from a wedding to a wake, The Dubliner can cater for it. They can handle anything from five to an impressive 150 people on the site.
The mezzanine is available for small or large groups and their suites are available for intimate private gatherings. The Dubliner’s chefs can prepare anything from finger food to a full buffet or a set menu sit down dinner.
Offering Irish Stout and real Irish Coffee are two other reasons why The Dubliner should be placed on the must visit list.
They also have live Irish music on most nights during the week, giving The Dubliner an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Bangkok.
