Skyscanner, the leading global travel search engine, represented by Mr. Jeremy Bek, Skyscanner’s Head of Country Marketing – APAC (left) and Ms. Grace Pobpabha Areerat, Skyscanner’s Marketing Manager – Thailand (right) announced the most popular and charming destinations across the Kingdom after collecting almost 10,000 votes during the eight week digital campaign via Skyscanner’s website.
Skyscanner’s ‘Charming Land of Smiles’ campaign was designed to promote Thai tourism among Thai people. The results were announced across five categories, with Chiang Mai voted the number one province; Lipe Island as number one natural attraction; Sukhothai Historical Park as number one historical attraction; Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival as number one cultural attraction; and Chiang Mai Walking Street Market as the number one recreational attraction.
According to Mr. Bek, the event tops off a successful year for Skyscanner in Thailand. “In the past year, visitors to Skyscanner’s website have grown by 86% and mobile visitors by 143%. More than half of Skyscanner’s visitors are from mobile. We’re grateful to everyone who has participated in this campaign as we come together to celebrate and develop travel in Thailand.”
